Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 in 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents separated to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. The year 2001 was a difficult one for her, but despite difficulties with money, she was able to secure her first big performance in the video online show Rachel's Room as the lead character. Her performance as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV movie Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, a character in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was dropped from the series in the year 2005, to take on an even more prominent role in films, having appeared alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. The actress has also appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of the characters. Grace was Shannon once more in the show's finale episode, as well as two additional episodes. Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her leading performances in the romantic erotic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the drama Sherrybaby (2006) each of which brought her a Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008, following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. As an unmarried mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she was in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Other roles she has played include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021, with her drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award.
