Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. The couple moved to Oxfordshire when she was five years old and attended at the Dragon School. Emma was aspired to be a professional actress from the age of six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy with part-time courses. The actress had performed in several Stagecoach as well as school plays when she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie version to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via her Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been picked for these roles. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film was also one of the top-rated films of 2001. The opening days and weekends of sales were record-breaking. The film received praise from reviewers, and so were the performance of three new starlets. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma got five nominations in recognition of her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress in a Film.
