Matthew Matt James born in North Carolina 5 December 1991. The parents of Matthew Matt James include Manny James and Patty James. His father is Nigerian as is his mother, who is caucasian American. He graduated in 2010 at Sanderson High School. In 2015, he graduated with an undergraduate degree in Economics at Wake Forest University. James became famous when his appearance on The Bachelorette as a reality TV celebrity. James was chosen in 2020 as the bachelor of the year on The Bachelor season 25, becoming the show's debut African American male star. The series premiered later that year. James' fit was perfect to be the role because he has an appealing, well-rounded, and tall personality. Rachael Krokconnell won the show by allowing James to establish an intimate relationship with her. The following year, in 2021, he was joined with the famous dancer Arnold in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold placed 12th in the show.
